19th and the beginning of the 20th century

The photographies illustrate dishes from the time between the publication of Valentin Vodník's Cookery Books and the period between the two World wars. I find this period extremely interesting because of the creation and publication of works in the Slovene language, the development of different attitudes towards housework and the emphasis on the importance of preparing tasty and good meals not only on holidays but, if possible, every day. On the other hand, this time also provides a wealth of information about people's resourcefulness in times of scarcity and uncertainty.
